DESCRIPTION:
Sulphadiazine is a sulfonamide antibiotic which blocks the bacterial production of tetra-hydro-folic acid from di-hydro-folic acid by binding with dihydrofolate reductase enzyme. Sulphadiazine, in common with other sulfonamides, also inhibits, the synthesis of di-hydro-folic acid by competing with para-amino-benz acid (PABA).Trisul-48% Injection thus imposes double blockade on bacterial metabolism produce a high level of antibacterial activity. Trisul-48% Inj is active against wide spectrum of gram-positive and gram-negative pathogens. After parenteral adminstration Trisul-48% Inj is rapidly absorbed and widely distributed throughout body tissues. Excretion of Trisul-48% is mainly through kidneys.
INDICATIONS:
Trisul-48% injection is used for the treatment of wide range of diseases of bacterial origin. Particullary effective in the respiratory, urogenital & alimentary track infections.
